Through my lens and my eyes
We each have a story. As a REALTOR, I find the greatest gift is in getting to know the people I’m fortunate to journey with in the home buying and selling process. What fuels me is your story, where you’ve been, where you’re going, your fears, your hopes and dreams. Story is also found in the structures we live in and around. As the photographer for Torrey Smith Realty, I get to enter hundreds of homes each with their own personality, features, and functionality. The creative challenge is transforming the three-dimensional spaces into two-dimensional images in a way that will capture the eye of the future homeowner. My goal is to do more than just take pictures of a home, its to design images that tell a story. In the weeks and months ahead I will use this blog as a portal into our listings by sharing a few images of each property and some thoughts on my experience at the property.
One home I shot last week is located at 1302 Oak Street in Shelbyville. Oak Street branches right off of Brown Avenue, a popular street where homes are in demand. What struck me about this home is the open feel that greets you as walk inside the front door. The newly renovated kitchen is attractive with it's cabinetry, granite, and new appliances. One picture I've included below is a bonus room that is in the attic space. I kept envisioning how this could be transformed into a kids tree house, a place for letting their huge imaginations run free. One additional feature that is impressive is the large detached garage, perfect for the wood worker or mechanic to get lost in their projects. Definitely a home worth seeing first hand.
